Session 1

Names of the teacher: Arathy JB

Lesson: Marvellous Travel

At the outset, the teacher involved in an informal conversation with the students. She presented two videos and made a discussion on the video and post pandemic days. She was interactive and lively. She talked about travelling and made the students guess the title of the poem. She gave a short biography of the poet. She asked a student to read the first four stanzas and explained the meaning. She repeated the same process with the succeeded stanzas. She also discussed the vocabulary on the go. She discussed the literary devices used in the poem. She reviewed the poem by asking questions from the poem. She conducted a quiz and concluded the class.

Session 2

Names of the teacher: Joshni Jose

Lesson: The Race (story)

Joshni Jose started the class through an informal talk. She asked the students some question related to athletes. She did this using some pictures, thus she introduced the title of the story, The Race. She gave a short biography of the author, Nisha Punjabi. After discussing about the author, she read the story and asked students to point out the words that are new to them. She discussed the vocabulary and explained the story to the students. She

made the students read the story too. She reviewed the lesson. She gave a follow up activity and winded up the class.

Session 3

Names of the teacher: Anoop Abraham

Lesson: The Happiness Machine (Story)

Anoop Abrahm started the class by establishing a good rapport among the students. After an open discussion on happiness, he presented the title and the author. He discussed the basic details of the author. He read the story and explained it interacting with the students. He had the judicious use of the mother tongue. While explaining the story, he also discussed the vocabulary. He asked some reinforcing questions in between. He gave a quiz and concluded the class.

Session 4

Names of the teacher: Dhanya Susan

Lesson: The Trio

Dhanya Susan started the class using an informal discussion that was progressed through the chat box. Then she presented an animated video related to unity. She was interactive with the students and the class was lively. She shared a link containing the short biography of t author. She discussed about Malgudi too. She discussed the meaning of the title. She read the story and made few students read the same. She cared to correct the pronunciation of the students. She asked questions to assess the comprehension level of the stents. She also gave a follow up activity to write a conversation containing 4 exchanges and concluded the class.

Names of the teacher: A Suryakrishna

Lesson: The Trio (story)

Surya started the class by 9am. She made a good rapport with the students. She called each student by their names. She gave a good summary of the introductory part that was dealt in the last class. She then read the story and asked the students to read it and point out difficult words. She cleared each doubt. She also gave a glossary reference of the part. She then made few students read the story aloud. She also gave an activity on Quizziz. Her class was interactive and lively.

Session 2

Names of the teacher: Divya Wilson

Lesson: On Killing a Tree (poem)

Divya Wilson started the class through an informal talk. She asked the students some question related to the activities the students involved during the lock down period. She asked the students to look out through the window and asked them to list out the things they saw. She presented some pictures and introduced the author and the title of the story, On Killing a Tree. She gave a short biography of the author, Gieve Patel. After discussing about the author, she read the story and asked students to point out the words that are new to them. She asked the students to read out the poem silently. She discussed the

vocabulary and explained the story to the students. She reviewed the lesson. She gave a follow up activity- to plant a tree and winded up the class.

Session 3

Names of the teacher: Steffy Susan Thomas

Lesson: Snake and the Mirror (Story)

Steffy Susan Thomas started the class by establishing a good rapport among the students. She read a Malayalam passage and asked the students to identify the author and the story. After an open discussion on the author, he presented the title of the story. He read the story and explained it interacting with the students. She had the judicious use of the mother tongue. While explaining the story, she also discussed the vocabulary. She asked some reinforcing questions in between and concluded the class.

Session 4

Names of the teacher: Ancy M Varghese

Lesson: The Village Blacksmith

 Ancy M Varghese started the class using an informal discussion. She asked the students about their ambitions and presented some pictures related to the different professions. After identification, she introduced the title of the story. She also gave a short profile of the author. She recited the poem with correct intonation and rhythm. She asked two of the students to recite the poems and also made a discussion on the rhyming words. She gave explanation of the poem with pictures. While explaining she also gave the meanings of the new words. She recited the poem again and reviewed the poem and assessed the students’ comprehension. She gave a activity to solve a jigsaw puzzle and asked to find words related to the blacksmith. Thus she concluded the class.
